statement

As a child, anything showing a wood grain piqued my interest and imagination. At 8 years old, I decided to refinish my 10th Mountain Division white skis. Next I tackled a gunstock on my 22 rifle. In 1956, I started a small company in Sheffield, MA, called Kenver Archery Company. We made highend matched arrow sets. One day a customer asked if I could fix his broken wooden skis. Within three years I was repairing and laminating over 300 pairs of skis a year.

Over a 50-year progression, Kenver Archery Company became Kenver Ltd. which today is synonymous with ski. Now in my 70s, I continue to have a passion for wood. My inventory comes from local trees claimed by ice, age or wind. The wood used in my craft lives forever.

If you have a piece of wood or a tree from which you’d like to create an heirloom, please contact us.
